PRODUCER’S STATEMENT
“Talking is how we share thoughts, feelings, and ideas. But for many people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), talking clearly and loudly (but not yelling) can be hard. Sometimes, our voices sound different, or people don’t understand us, or they don't want to make the time to try to understand us. The medicine we take to help with PD can make our bodies move in ways that might seem distracting. And sometimes, people don’t listen to us because of our race, gender, or background.
We haven’t always been included in decisions about medicine, healthcare, or research, but that’s starting to change. In this film, you will meet some people with Parkinson's who are finding ways to speak up, work together, and make sure our voices are heard. We believe that everyone deserves to be heard and understood!”
